1) Went to the interview... got offered the job an hour and a half later. Thas how I roll.
2) Showed up at the school for a four hour training... it was moved to next week (I can't make it then - so no training for me!). Suddenly had my afternoon open.
3) Got some materials for the program the school wants me to run next year. :)
4) Had popcorn for lunch (with cheesy jalapeño flavor on top)! [For those of you who don't know, popcorn is my favorite food.]
5) There's an incentive for staying through June at the job and I'm definitely going to do that, so I have an incentive coming, YAY!

A new opportunity
1) I've got an interview for a job that I've worked for two different companies and feel quite sure I will get it.
2) I'm FINALLY starting to feel a lot better.
3) Simone has started moving some of her things to her apartment (I can almost get to stuff in my room again)!
4) I made plans with a friend for Thursday. :) Yay! I made plans!
5) I got myself some Lindt dark chocolate truffles.
1 -- So seriously maybe forty-five seconds after I submitted my resume online (and I am NOT exaggerating on that time), they called. Jean-Mi didn't pick up the phone so I called back and considering my experience and the fact that I speak Spanish, they are really interested in me working there. I have an interview tomorrow but I imagine it will go like the one I had at AMP. (I walked in and took a typing test. I got more than double the base minimum requirement. We then sat down for the interview and when I said, "I worked for Pinnacle," Vanessa said, "Oh! You're the one I wanted to hire! When can you start?" Best interview ever. One question. Win. Also I know some higher-ups in the company so that will help me because they can vouch that I'm a hard worker and I'm awesome. I'm excited to work an easy job that I find fulfilling because I can do it very well. :D Hope your life is going well too!

1) I got to go with Simone for her first time through the temple.
2) I got to sleep in.
3) I got to see Danielle while she was in town.
4) Jean-Mi made me laugh in the temple.
5) I got to see the new video.
4 -- Jean-Mi managed to get in without his shoes. Pretty funny. My dad looks down and his eyes widen so I look down and we ask J, "Uh.. where are your shoes!?" LOL Good times.

Organic Chocolate
1) I am so thankful for organic dark mint chocolate bars - they're delicious!
2) I'm so thankful for heating pads!
3) I had a laugh at the gym.
4) I found some fun new videos online today.
5) I got to watch Whose Line with Jean-Mi.
3 -- This pill I'm taking ups my heart rate right after I take it, so I take advantage of it and work out right after I take it. The treadmill on Wednesday, thanks to my elevated heart rate, kept arbitrarily slowing down. So today I used the eliptical so I wouldn't be slowed. It started beeping at me and flashing this message, "Reduce speed to lower heart rate." .. It was funny to me.
Ooh! I also did my laundry today. I'm glad I got that done. :)
Hope your day went well.

Memorials
1) I got my memorial book yesterday (forgot to mention it) - it's beautiful (I cried and cried).
2) I'm IN the memorial book with my momma!
3) I've worn my momma necklace everyday since I got it (pic below).
4) I made it through today.
5) My hair is long enough that I can put it in two braids again.
As always, my best to you.

(Oops - late, sorry!)
1) I found a new game on my phone and I'm hooked!
2) I can see the improvements in my health and it means a lot to me.
3) My pain has been milder than expected and that's nice.
4) Simone and Andy found an apartment and are going to start moving stuff there Saturday. (Her stuff is currently on top of all my stuff so I haven't been able to go through everything and get rid of things like I planned/want to.)
5) I got an email from a former student in Japan. <3
Today was a fairly low key day and I'm grateful for the small goals I accomplished and for not having to yet pull out the heating pad. Probably tomorrow though. :/ I can do this! :) My best to you and your efforts to also be thankful in.
And here is one of my favorite Bible scriptures for you (1 Cor. 8:3):

Terrific Tuesday
1) I got to spend a lot of time in the temple today and do lots of ordinances.
2) I saw some of my former students - one gave me a hug, they ALL want to TA for me next year (one has already graduated but wants to come back and be in my classroom).
3) My interview went EXTREMELY well - if they don't hire me, it will be because the Lord has other plans for me.
4) I got to have a good chat with my wonderful sister Angèle.
5) I was able to laugh at something I saw today. "Is your social worker in the horse?" "Yes." (Hannibal - it's dark... but that made me laugh and I appreciated the laugh.)
2 -- I became a teacher because I wanted to change lives for the better. My heart practically exploded to hear how much my former students loved my class and all three wanted to TA for me just to be around me. They spoke of lunches and Halo and watching Community. I know I SHOULDN'T care so much what my students think of me - but it makes a difference in class. (I also know of students there and in Japan who didn't care for me, but the majority really loved my class and that meant the world to me!)
I am looking forward to a low key day tomorrow. All I have planned is my workout and crying. (I say crying because a remembrance book for someone very near and dear to me is arriving tomorrow and I fully expect that I my heart will miss her all the more looking at her photos. What a bittersweet thing death is. I'm so glad I will see her again in the next life. If nothing else, THAT would make me a Mormon. Don't tell me life ends after this. That's crap! I will be with my family again. I look forward to seeing family and friends (and in the past four years I've lost seven people very close to me so I'm looking forward even more to the time when I will see them all again).
An Old English blessing:
May your joys be as bright as the morning, your years of happiness as numerous as the stars in the heavens, and your troubles but shadows that fade in the sunlight of love.

An interview
Today went super well!!
1) I had an awesome workout at the gym. I don't remember the last time that much sweat poured off me - felt great!
2) I've got an interview tomorrow!!!
3) I'm going to sign my paperwork for my teaching job tomorrow!!!
4) (Ok, sorry, I will focus on today.) I had a delicious lunch - revived an old favorite.
5) I had a wonderful time at FHE with my family. <3
2) -- After I got home from my workout, I showered and was getting dressed. I heard the phone ringing and lately my mom has been complaining that we don't answer her calls. (Of course it couldn't have been her unless it was an emergency as she was teaching at that time..Still) I rushed out of the bathroom and JUST missed the call. On the Caller ID I saw "Sylvan Learning Center." I was ecstatic. I had applied for two jobs there (as Assistant Center Director and as a teacher/tutor). They were asking to interview me for both. I found out the assistant position was further north and also didn't want to leave them in a bad spot by leaving in the fall so I opted to interview only for a teaching position. I had a nice chat with the girl on the phone and I have an interview tomorrow. I will get the job. I know I will.
4) -- My revived favorite? Cottage cheese with pickled banana peppers (canned by my mom) with a healthy dusting of pepper. It's SOOOO good.
5) -- For FHE, we went to my brother's place in West Jordan and had a game night. It was fun to finally see their place and Jean-Mi and I sang the whole way up and the whole way back. :D It was really nice to spend that time with my family. (Also my team won the first game we played - and both teams tied the second round.) LOL My brother named our team "Bad Guys" after we'd won the first round and his team "Good Guys." Thanks Fan!
I hope you all had as wonderful a day as me.
An old Irish blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

What is thankful in?
Hello and welcome to my new blog! This will cover my life (I find I blog before I journal so this is my public journal), and more importantly the blessings in my life. The title of this blog comes from a talk given by President Uchtdorf (a member of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). In it he talks about rather than being thankful for things, we should be thankful in our circumstances. So welcome to "Thankful In." (By the way the talk in INCREDIBLE and here is the link!)
I don't want to go into my circumstances, because that's not the point of this blog. I do, however, want to talk about my blessings. I will post AT LEAST five things each day. I will try not to double up.
1) I am condo shopping and it's really fun. I have yet to secure lending (I have no worries about securing it), but it's fun to look at places that could be MINE and my home. I have pictures I'm planning to put up (of Christ, temples, and family), and I have space I'm going to fill with treasures from Argentina (my LDS mission) and Japan (where I taught English for a year).
2) I'm finding it very easy to keep all my fitness goals. It's nice to know so much about fitness and be able to apply it to my own life without outside judgment.
3) I am filling out the paperwork for my dream job tomorrow. :D!
4) I had homemade cheesecake tonight. Now, Japan is superior to the US in almost all desserts. However, in cheesecake they (IMO) fell short. It was lovely to have that amazing treat (made by my amazing mum).
5) My friends I made in Japan are still in contact with me. I have received many emails and that means a lot to me to have their support and love though now I am much farther away than I was before.
Today: Emmett came over to have Easter dinner with us (Angèle's SO), and it was nice. We chatted and just had family time. Church was nice (though taking an allergy pill has been making me drowsy, lol). I am looking forward to the week and seeing the blessing and miracles that have been prepared for me.
I'd like to end with a polish blessing for you:
May your hand be outstretched to all you meet.
And may all men say 'Brother' when they speak of you.
May the land be fertile beneath your feet.
May your days be gentle as the sun-kissed dew.
